Sozo

What is Sozo?

SOZO is the Greek word translated “saved, healed, delivered.” Sozo ministry is a unique inner healing and deliverance ministry aimed to get to the root of things hindering your personal connection with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. With a healed connection, you can walk in the destiny to which you have been called.

Salvation

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you shall be saved (sozo).” Romans 10:9

HEALING

“But Jesus turning and seeing her said ‘Daughter take courage your faith has made you well (sozo) and at once the woman was made well (sozo).” Matthew 9:22

DELIVERANCE

“And those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon-possessed had been made well (sozo).” Luke 8:36

Frequenty Asked Questions

What does a Bluewater Sozo Session look like?

A Sozo session is facilitated by 2-3 trained team members in a confidential and safe environment. The “First Position” is the facilitator and the only person speaking during the session.  The “Second Position” is interceding during the session and writing all the good things God says to and about you. You will take all of the good things with you at the end.  Sessions are scheduled on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and usually last 1½ - 2 hours.

How do I prepare for my session?

It is recommended that you fast and pray one week before your session to prepare your heart for what God wants to do during your session. Ask the Lord what type of fast He wants for you to prepare for your session - Daniel fast, Liquid fast, fasting from TV / Electronics...etc.

Do I need to be a part of a small group to schedule a session?

No.  However, if you are not apart of a consistent small group, we strongly recommend you find one. We recommend that you share with someone you trust what happened during your session so that you will have someone to pray with and hold you accountable.  This person should not be who you consider your “best friend.”

Do I need to be a Bluewater church member to schedule a session?

No.  Anyone can schedule a Sozo session who would like to receive ministry.

Is there a cost for a session?

There is no cost for a session, but donations are accepted. For donations, please make your check payable to Bluewater Mission and write "Sozo Ministry" on the memo line.  You will receive a tax deductible receipt in the mail.

Can I bring someone with me?

No.  The session is built around a personal time with the Lord.  Our facility doesn’t have a waiting area for someone to wait in while your session is in progress.

What paperwork do you use?

We use a very short application and a simple liability release form that is signed at the time of the session.

How is Sozo different from counseling?

Our Sozo team are not trained counselors, nor is the Sozo session a counseling session.  It is simply a facilitated session between you and The Holy Spirit to bring freedom, healing and deliverance.

Will I get totally healed from a session?

All of us wish that everyone would walk out completely healed. However, sometimes, the healing process takes time.  Sometimes, we need to walk out the healing received and come back in 3 to 6 months for more healing.

Can one Sozo session actually heal a lie that has been believed for many years?

Yes. Once the Lord heals the first time the lie was settled into your spirit, the rest of your life experiences based on this lie will realign to His truth.

Is the session completely confidential?

The session is confidential and is not discussed with anyone outside of the Sozo team assigned to your session in most cases.  An evaluation of the session is completed by both the Sozo team members and the Sozo client after each session.  In some cases, the Sozo team may need to consult with Sozo leadership and/or church leadership.  Sozo team members are required by law to report to church leadership any harm that a person may do to him/herself or to others.

How do I become a Bluewater Sozo team member?

The requirements for becoming a Bluewater Sozo team member is to 1) attend the Basic Sozo Training, 2) complete your own personal Sozo session and, 3) regularly attend a small group/bible study.

Once you have met these criteria, you will be placed in the Second or Third position on the team.  This allows you to experience several sessions in a support role and see if this ministry is really for you.  After you've experienced several sessions and the leadership feels comfortable that you are ready, you will be moved to the First position with a strong support team.

Does the training give me enough in-depth information to be qualified to use the Sozo tools on my own?

Yes/No. By going through the above steps, you will have been given all the information for the Basic Sozo but you can never underestimate experience. The best next step is to practice or, as we say at Bluewater…Try.

Testimonies

I loved my Sozo session. The team was gentle yet effective in facilitating the session. I felt very safe and comfortable and the Lord was so faithful to take me through healing. I walked away encouraged and thankful for what I experienced.  I was set free from bondage I had been struggling with for a while.

What a precious and greatly needed ministry this is. I pray that every church would embrace, equip, and incorporate Sozo and that God's people would seek it and be set free.

I was expecting to deal with 1 issue and God got to the root which healed a lifetime of hurts and it was quick and easy. I am still in awe.  I have been through other healing ministries and I realize now I never got to the root. Sozo got right to the root and gently removed it.

I was so blessed. It was so cool to have you confirm what I felt the Lord has been saying to me - and in such a gentle, loving voice!

I feel that I am calmer and more relaxed and have a higher energy level.

I received so much revelation and confirmation after confirmation in this ministry time. I was blown away by the movement of the Holy Spirit throughout my session time. The insightful words said by the team members many times left me in awe of His presence with us.
